Doctors, Take Action!

PromoteHealthy Development through PLAY!

We encourage you to promote outdoor play in your practices and communities.  Offer your families the opportunity to sign a pledge for outdoor play and take a moment to discuss the benefits of outdoor play.  Learn more about play by reading the attached fact sheet.

  • Play is a natural preventive for the current epidemic of childhood obesity
  • Play develops imagination and creative problem solving skills
  • Play improves overall social emotional health
  • Play lays a foundation for learning and academic success

Become an advocate for play:

  • Share the evidence about the importance of play with parents, teachers, school officials, and policymakers
  • Advocate for safe, well-maintained parks and play areas in your community

The National Child Care Health Consultant Registry
