3 million reports are made each year in the U.S., but experts estimate that actual numbers of incidents of abuse and neglect are 3 times greater.
4 children die everyday as a result of child abuse and 3 out of 4 of these victims is under the age of 4.
Child abuse occurs at every socioeconomic level, across ethnic and cultural lines, within all regions, and at all levels of education.
One third of abused children will later abuse their children, continuing the cycle.
