Docs For Tots Early Learning Advocacy Project

Docs For Tots Washington State Director, Dr. Jill Sells, will oversee the implementation of an Early Learning Advocacy Project sponsored by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Polling data indicates, and DFT’s experience shows, that physicians are particularly effective advocates for policies and practices that improve the lives of very young children. DFT provides doctors in Washington state with resources focused on health and development and early childhood. Using these materials and experiences from their practice, doctors will engage in public awareness and advocacy efforts to provide health and development technical assistance to promote quality early learning across Washington.

"As a nation we must strengthen programs for early learning for our children. Unless we do so, we stand in danger of perpetuating and increasing a permanent underclass. This will be very costly and damaging to this country both nationally and internationally." - John M. Neff, MD, Washington State Network Doctor
