Children's Campaign, Inc. (Florida)
The Children’s Campaign, Inc. is working with Docs For Tots to improve the health and wellbeing of children in Florida and to make children’s issues a legislative priority. The Children's Campaign works closely with local and statewide collaborative partners to encourage policy-makers to address the needs as identified in their platform and its related policy briefs. Co-founded by Roy Miller, who now serves as its President, Children’s Campaign, Inc. was begun 12 years ago and became an independent 501(C)(3) tax exempt organization in January 2002.
FACTS-AT-A-GLANCE
WHAT A non-partisan advocacy group committed to focusing attention on Florida’s 3.9 million children who have no political voice of their own.

CHILDREN'S CAMPAIGN PICTURE THE FUTURE PROJECT
* Becoming a doctor was chosen as 3rd in the rankings of all professions children chose!
For the last two years, all across Florida more than 14,000 preschoolers enrolled in Universal Pre-K programs have participated in "Picture the Future" to share their artwork with legislators and business leaders to show what they have learned about various careers. Research shows these preschoolers are far more likely to achieve their career goals if they attend a high quality pre-k program that employees teachers with college degrees.
The 2006 Picture the Future scholarship winner was a young lady named Emilynn. Emilynn accepted her scholarship in front of her family, teacher, scholarship sponsors and several local television crews. She answered questions and charmed those around her, a perfect spokeswoman for the need to ensure all Florida’s children have the foundation to reach their potential. The $5,000 scholarship will further her career dreams, which currently involve becoming a doctor.
